Miller Homes Follow Up

19th September 2023

A key output for Go Green is to assist our customers on their sustainable journeys with waste. That’s why we were thrilled to hear from our customer, Miller Homes Ltd, that they were issuing a press release regarding the work we delivered on their Earls Grange development earlier in the year.

Operating as Miller Homes’ waste partner for the West Midlands region, we arranged for 32 tonnes of waste wood from the site to be sent to Community Wood Recycling where it was upcycled into new products including benches, planters and bird boxes – sold via Community Wood Recycling stores across the country. The profits of which go back into the enterprise, supporting more people with training and work opportunities.

The waste upcycling was a trial run and is another step forward for Miller Homes to become more sustainable and achieve targets across the business. Head of Environmental Sustainability at Miller Homes, Jo Stott, said: “We are very pleased with the outcome of the waste wood initiative at Earls Grange, which has contributed to achieving our 2025 waste recycling target of 75% across all Miller Homes sites ahead of schedule.”

On 6th September, one of our Business Development Managers, and Miller Homes’ key contact, completed a follow up visit to the West Midlands site as a Go Green representative, and also met up with Miller Home’s Marketing team to discuss our GROWW framework and potential collaborations. Here’s to a bright working partnership in the future.
