As of 1st January 2023, there has been a change in legislation regarding upholstered domestic seating containing POPs and Waste Electrical, and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) containing POPs; POPs must now be incinerated and cannot be sent to landfill. POPs are a chemical substance that slowly break down in the environment and are often found on the back of covers and in the foam of upholstered domestic seating. They are a danger to human health and the environment.
