Q3 Social Value Wrap-Up

26th November 2025

From July to September, our Social Value team continued to turn tangible initiatives into measurable impact – supporting young people into meaningful careers, helping local charities enhance their spaces, and empowering our clients and partners to deliver more from every contract. All our activity is measured against the National TOMs framework, ensuring every volunteering hour, workshop and work experience placement is evidenced and reportable for our clients.

GreenEthos
In August, our team got hands-on at Hyde Park Allotments in Doncaster, joining forces with local volunteers for a community litter pick during National Allotments Week. By clearing pathways and shared spaces, we helped protect a much-loved green asset in the heart of the community, supporting biodiversity, encouraging local food growing and creating a more welcoming space for families and residents to enjoy.

ReEducate
Q3 saw a packed calendar of schools, colleges and work experience activity across Yorkshire and beyond, giving learners a real-world insight into sustainability and the world of work.

In July, our Social Value team delivered:

  • A series of work experience placements, including:
  • Morgan Sindall Devonshire Gardens, Ipswich – a cohort of 13 students experiencing life on a live project and learning how waste, logistics and carbon reduction come together on site.
  • Mock interview and employability sessions:
  • Aston Academy, Sheffield – Year 12 mock interviews that focused on progression routes, professional behaviours and preparing for next steps after sixth form.
  • Eco Heroes and student leadership sessions:
  • Exceed Partnership Eco Heroes (Doncaster) – supporting student parliament representatives to design and lead their own sustainability projects.

All of this is captured through TOMs as supporting young people into better outcomes, from employability skills and careers inspiration to hours of curriculum-linked learning.

Spotlight: Harrison College – a mock Go Green experience
In September, our entire Social Value team came together to deliver a new, bespoke session for Harrison College in Doncaster, a specialist provider supporting young people with autism. We designed the session to mimic a mock Go Green, giving learners the chance to step into key business roles such as Sales, Buying and Operations. Through workplace-style interactions, students:

  • Practised communication, teamwork and problem-solving
  • Experienced the decision-making involved in running a business
  • Saw how their individual strengths could align with real job roles

For Harrison College, this wasn’t just a one-off workshop, it was a tailored, inclusive experience that helped students picture themselves thriving in a professional environment.

OurCommunity
Our OurCommunity pillar continued to focus on supporting grassroots organisations and local people, particularly through our partnership with Skills Academy Doncaster and regional charities.

In July, we:

  • Joined Skills Academy Doncaster to deliver more mock interviews, helping adults and young people build confidence and move closer to employment.
  • Supported Taylor Woodrow with the Bloom project, installing planters to brighten up shared spaces and promote community pride.

In August, a team of Go Green volunteers painted and refreshed one of Doncaster Housing for Young People’s (DHYP) shared houses in Bentley, creating a safer, more welcoming environment for young people experiencing homelessness or hardship.

DHYP – in their own words
“We are extremely thankful to Simon and the team at Go Green for volunteering their time and effort to decorate the entire downstairs of one of our shared houses.

Go Green’s team of hardworking and enthusiastic volunteers did a brilliant job painting various rooms, leaving them looking clean and completely refreshed. The planning of this project between our two organisations was in-depth and effective and the end result means our young people can relax in a safe, stable and comforting space.

As a small charity with limited funds, assistance like this is always greatly appreciated and enables us to carry out activities we may not otherwise be able to complete. Thank you for all your support – we would love to work with Go Green again in the future.”

Kimberley Jessop – Volunteer Coordinator, DHYP

WasteSchool
Our WasteSchool pillar continued to grow in partnership with Ringway, combining waste education with real operational insight.

In September, this partnership expanded to include:

  • Two days of Ringway waste workshops across Milton Keynes, Gloucester and West Unitaries – focusing on practical, contract-specific opportunities to improve segregation, reuse materials and reduce waste to landfill.
  • Ringway environmental training sessions in Hounslow and Surrey, building internal champions who can drive day-to-day behaviour change on site.

These activities contribute directly to TOMs measures around environmental training, resource efficiency and reduced carbon from better waste management.

Looking ahead
Q3 has shown how powerful it is when clients, education providers, charities and our own teams pull in the same direction. From mock interviews and Eco Heroes to community makeovers and specialist workshops, each project adds another layer to the social value our clients can evidence through the TOMs framework.

As we move into Q4, we have continued to grow this impact, creating more opportunities for learners, more support for local charities, and more sustainable outcomes from every contract we touch.
